Hello! I am new to this forum, so I apologize if this is the wrong place to post this question.
Growing up my dad had a 1962 Fordson Supermajor and it was his pride and joy. He passed away right before I turned 20 and at the time, I didn't have the means to acquire the tractor. Over the past 12 years it bounced around family members and just this August my husband surprised me by buying the tractor. I am absolutely stoked to finally have my dad's tractor back with me, but it hasn't run in about 4 years and I honestly have no idea what to even start with.
So sappy story short - could you guys be of some assistance on where to begin? Is there a generic check list of what to check/change/try in getting this old thing running? I have basic knowledge of how diesel engines run and their components, but not exactly knowledge on the repair side of things.
I plan on doing more research on the Super Majors and studying the manual, but I know a lot of the time just asking the dumb questions and getting it over with can be faster, ha.
I appreciate any help I can get - or even what to search within this forum to get started.
Thank you!
