Hi all.. new to this site (sort of) and to Fordson tractors.
Have known about Yesterday's Tractors forums for years, but never really had a reason to join. Well, that is about to change.
We went yesterday evening to check out what is claimed to be a 1954-ish Fordson Super Major (preliminary research suggests it is a New Major not a Super, but whatever). Have not found the serial number plate for the tractor itself as yet, but will look again once it is in our possession.
Tractor is in excellent shape, has a Sherman backhoe, and Wagner Iron Works front loader on it, both in excellent working condition.
This old girl has had some serious care over the last 3-4 yrs by its current owners.. lots of new parts throughout, including nearly every single hydraulic hose... runs beautifully, and looks pretty good, too.
We will be picking it up hopefully on Aug 8 providing nothing drastic happens between now and then.
Looking forward to learning more about this old tractor, and getting some serious use out of it on our little 2.5 acres, lol
