I have a 1988 Ford Backhoe Model 655A Ser# 782303

I Rebuilt the front 4x4 axles and we had a lot of problems finding the correct parts. I cant remember what the issue was except the US parts books for this 655A were incorrect. Now I am trying to replace the water pump.. If we order out of the parts book the pullies do not line up.
Can someone tell me how or where to go to order parts for this machine?

There are multiple part numbers listed depending on date of manufacture of the tractor. What part number are you ordering where the pulleys don't line up? Also, is it a single pulley pump or a double pulley model for use with a/c?

the part number we are getting is 87800109 it did have AC on it.

now we are just driving the alternator with it. I made a spacer to get the fan away from the pump so I am getting closer. looks like I am going to have to machine the pully a little to get the belts to line up

Sorry, that was the part number for a single pulley water pump without a/c. The part number I am seeing for a dual pulley version with a/c is 87800120.

The best advice I can give you is to look at the components you're dealing with, not just the unit code/date of assembly. Lots of
things could have been changed or modified over the years including that it simply had a newer BSD engine dumped into it somewhere
in the 90's. So look at what you have. Same with MFWD parts. There are MANY variations on those axles with all of the changes over
the years. It's not that the books are wrong... it's just that they're sometimes ambiguous... so know the axle model number and
the build date on the axle. That will help you cipher out what you need. I'm sure it's there in the book, 99 % of the time.
