Trying to replace the fuel pump and got tired of fighting all the stuff in the way - loader frame, etc. When attempting to loosen the lock nucks on the two bolts at the bottom of the radiator, they just squeak and turn with a lot of resistance, never loosening. Am I right in assuming that whatever held the bolts in place - solder or weld - has let go and the bolts are just spinning? I replaced the radiator about 20 years ago.

The carriage bolts are spinning in their square cut mounts. Cut the nuts off with a dremel or small cutoff wheel.
I never understood all the fuss about changing the fuel pump. Remove muffler & hood. Remove upper generator mount bolt, belt and tach cable, flop the genny out on its lower mounts, and change the fuel pump. It really isn't a big deal.

Prying up on the radiator while turning your wrench may help to loosen the bolts. It would be much easier (if it works) than trying to cut off the nuts.

Are you sure the fuel pump needs replaced?

We discovered (later) that my 67 4500, has a filter screen, that was plugged with rust particles.

It was good fun replacing the pump with the radiator in. :(

I meant that there was a filter screen, inside the pump.

Not at the tractor, but I beleive that removing the small bolts and piece, where the fuel line enters is where the screen is.

Yes there is a screen inside the fuel pump.
The trouble is getting the cover to reseal after you open it. It seems they always leak. I just replace the pump.
