2000 muffler

I see a couple of posts on exhaust systems tonight.
While we're on the topic - Any suggestions for a quieter muffler for a '74 2000 gas?
I have the horizontal version and the exhaust barks whenever the governor kicks in.
I used to like that sound when I had headers on my cars , but not so much anymore.

The oval style muffler is quieter than the round ones. Oval style is a little harder to mount than the round ones under the axle. To get mine to fit good I installed my oval backwards - ie inlet/outlet. Six years now with no ill effects.
