Here's my "pre-restored" (as in, I haven't started restoring it yet) 640. I have had it for a year or so, and have only changed fluids, replaced old hydraulic hoses, spark plug wires, installed rear lights, etc. etc. It sure can move snow though! I hope to paint it this year.

Thats a nice lookin 640. I have a 650 that i just
love. It is the perfect size for a small acreage.
Thats a cool front blade! will it push dirt?

Here's my 1955 I posted a few days ago. Anyone know why mine has a glass jar at the air intake and Idykeman doesn't? I was wondering if this was the norm. Is there a benefit?

The jar is part of the Cyclone Air pre filter. If the jar has Cyclone cast in the glass, treasure it. If you do a lot of haying, or bush hogging, you will see hayseed and other junk in the jar. Better there than clogging up the oil bath air cleaner. The jar has a gasket that needs to seal good. If it leaks air, the unit won't work well.

optional settling pre cleaner.. heavy particles make it into the jar before getting to the oil bath.

It sure pushes a lot of dirt accidently! The last couple of snows this past winter fell over thawed ground. I forgot to drop the height adjusters, and had to to a bit of dirt replacement after everything melted.
I have not tried to purposely push any dirt with it.

Thanks for the info. I'll be in MS this weekend visiting family around Madison. I saw an add for a Ford 2000 with shredder that I want to check out while I'm there.
