18.4X30 Duals on 4600

I finally have the duals installed, with two more trips to the tire dealer.
I had to replace the "J" bolts as the old ones were about 3" too short.
I then cut 1 1/2" off the new ones, and they fit great
The duals are fairly easy to install once you get the hang of it.
I also noticed it is hard to judge where the outside dual is, when you drive in through the garage door! oops!
I have two clamps that are JD green, they may get painted some day!

I also replaced the power steering pump filter and re-installed the straightened front tin-work today after I took the picture.

Wow. She looks mean! Maybe you said in a previous post and I missed it, but where'd you get your dual hardware? I've got 7 clamps for my 8000 and need an 8th. No idea where it ever went. Mine are the kind that hook on the outside of the rim. Good job.

Looking good - My neighbor runs them like that on his smaller Fords. He adds extra wide front tires to cut hey on the salt marshes in the area. He does thousends of bails per year.

I bought the clamp parts I needed from a tire repair shop.
I think my clamps are made by Ungerford, or that style.
Try some of the tire repair places near you, if you can take a sample in to show them - you might be better off.

"A REALLY BIG thank you" to everyone that helped get me to this point!
Regards
Brian
PS
That is "Hoover, the head of security", shown there by the back of the tractor.

Be carefull with the stamped steel wheels,we had a 1975 7000 diesel with 18.4/34's and one wheel cracked at the lug nut's from the stress of running the duals and the wheels almost can off, ,we traded for a 1980 TW 10 with cast wheels and never had a problem,on our 1975 UNI model 705 Diesel sheller with a 4 row cast iron snapping roll head(4200#'s alone)newidea made a ring you put on the stamped steel wheel before the lug nuts for that same reason, just a heads up for you to watch for,bad enough happing in the field at slow speed, picture this going down the road in high gear!!!!!!
