2000 question

Thanks Fordfarmer, this one is listed on CL as a 75, and just wanted to be sure the guy was on the level with that year. http://jackson.craigslist.org/grd/2169812358.html

'75 is possible, but a lot of people list them with
the wrong year. (see the 'whats wrong with this ad'
post from last week.) See if he will email you the
serial number/model number/date stampings from the
tranny housing (or under-hood tag), and we can tell
when it was made, right down to the day and shift. I
guess I'd be more concerned with condition and
options than year...

find out what trans it has too.. and if it has PS.. 4K is alot to pay foran economy machine and a used mower if it don't have at least a 6spd... and preferably an 8spd... preferably with ps too1 :)

guys, there is a blue book on tractors. I would definately verify the numbers but the condition/options is very very important.

Thanks for all the replies and advice guys, The tractor is in Monroe La, about 150 miles from me. I hate to drive that far and find out it's a rusty ol' hulk. The guy didn't post pics. Guess I'll have to bite the bullet and go take a look. I have a friend that needs a tractor and this would be just what he needs if it and the equipment is any good.
