Have a 1954 Ford NAA that I restored/rebuilt last summer. Doing a little cleaning around the pasture yesterday and she slowly creep up to the red on the temp. gauge. Parked and came back later after she was cooled and the top tank on the radiator had collapsed inward, or sucked in. This is a new radiator, thermostat, water pump, hose's, just about every thing but the radiator cap were replaced. (stupid I know after all that I did . Should have replaced a ten dollar cap) The water/coolant weren't low, but there was a little Johnson grass seeds in the fins. Any ideas what would caused the cooling system to create a vacuum and pull the radiator tank in? Last thing I want to do is ruin the engine after all the time and money I have in this tractor. Any help would be a big help.

Update ran her for about a hour today. Cleaned the fins of radiator and she ran about 3/4 the way over in the green the entire time. But would move to the red when I shut her down. Also took new cap off the 8n and put on it. Still would like to know what caused the tank to be sucked in like it is. Again thanks for any advise or help.
