My tractor has a model 602 Corn picker on it and the lift arms are no longer working.
Now for the back story,
I have had the picker mounted on the tractor for a bout 3 years now and the last 2 years when I went to start it to take it to local shows and for my own enjoyment I have had to put a floor jack under the picker to lift it a time or two and then the tractor's own hydraulics would begin to work fine and pick it up on it's own. Well when I pulled it out last week to take it to a show the usual trick didn't work. After and hour of fooling around with it the lift still will not work itself.
If I jack it up, let it sit for 30 sec and then drop the jack, the tractor will hold it up just fine, but if I drop it, it will not raise. It sounds like an o-ring or possibly the pump is failing. What do ya'll think? I am pretty sure what ever it is, I am gonna have to pull the top off to get fix it which doesn't bother me, but I thought I would check for some ideas before I go at it.
Eventually I will restore both the tractor and corn picker, but they are pretty low on my list as the tractor runs like a top (has been on our farm since the mid '60s and cared for).
Thanks in advance!
