1979 Ford 4600 Update

Last Saturday; I pulled the oil pan off that 4600 I bought last spring - I found a mess in there!
The nuts came off #1 connecting rod, busted the camshaft, and drove the rod out through the side of the block. I am thinking the crankshaft is not repairable. (A lot of metal missing everywhere on that throw)
I am not sure about other damage to the block; and I still need to pull the cylinder head.
I will finish pulling it apart when I get home from moose hunting.
I'll post pictures then.

We usually do well with the moose hunting; usually two; occasionally just one - knock on wood!
My stepson's girlfriend has shot the moose for us the last two years - about time someone else took over; if you know what I mean!
She is a darn good shot, and works as hard as the rest of us too.

I am still hoping to be able to repair that engine; as it is still the original one.

Well she has done it again!
She shot another cow moose yesterday morning.
We worked all day getting it out, cleaned, and dressed properly; then drove all night (20 hours to get back home).
I'll get the moose pictures from the others and post what can be posted.
Time for some sleep!
Brian
PS The tractor pictures will be coming too!
