2110 Horsepower - Ultradog?

What is the actual horsepower of my 2110 3 cyl 1971 LCG?

It was sold to me as a Ford 2000 by an actual ford dealer. In talking to Ultradog on a loader bracket, we determined that it has the 3000 front bolster. Is this tractor really a 3000? 47HP at the crank? T

he 2000 and the 3000 have the same 158 CI displacement engine. How do they get 10 more HP out of it?

John

I don't remember the engine HP on these tractors.
Someone else may know.
There really isn't much difference between a 2110 and a 3000. The 2 2110s I've seen up close and personal both had the square rear axles and differential lock like the 3000s. And the heavier bolster like the 3000.
You are correct that the CID on both the 2000 and 3000 GASSERS is the same 158 ci. (3000 Diesel was 175ci)
This has been discussed here before. The only thing we could come up with is the 3000 engine is governed a couple hundred rpms higher than the 2000 and possibly?? they used different jetting in the carb. I don't think the hp difference is as high as you state. 2000 is about 33 hp and the 3000 is about 37.
One other difference between the 3000 and 2110 (aside from the stubby front spindles)is a higher gear ratio in the ring and pinion.
The 2110 was longer legged to compensate for the smaller dia tires on the back. Though I'm not certain this was always the case as a lot of 2110s came with those big wide turf tires - 16.9X24? and not the skinny little duals.
How is your loader coming along?

My Blue book does not list a 2110 for that year.
It does show 30.83 HP for the gas 2000 and 37.84 for the gas 3000.
The tractor weights are different too; 2000 = 3507 LBS; 3000 = 3664 LBS

Serial C299013
Model B1123C (on hood and on block are same)
Engine 1A20A
Unit 1D21B (agrees with production code)

So I decode to a 2000 lcg gas live pto and 8 speed (all correct)
and unit decode to 1971 April 21 Day shift.

Funny that it has so much 3000 content but still listed as a 2000 - bolster, square rear end and locking diff.

Anyone decode the engine number? If it follows the unit number it was made in 71 on Jan 20th on the midnight shift.

BTW, Ultradog, got the bracket metal but not done yet, have to get the hydraulic pump rebuild done. Just got the kit. On the bracket, looked around and found 3/4 in plate that a fab company will bend for me once I get the dimensions. I love a small town. The plate is 4in by 13in by 3/4in and they charged me a whole 3 bucks for it...

In a way it stands to reason it would be coded as a 2000 since the model is after all 2110.
They made a 4110 also that had the same 3000 front end. I've never seen one in person.

I've often wondered how and when they stamped the serial numbers on these tractors. The N's and early Jubilees were hand stamped IIRC.
By the later Jubes and onwards, with the increasing options, models and complexity of serializing they must have had some kind of a typewriter that glomed onto the tranny and typed the numbers After it was assembled.
Tell me again what size rear tires you have on yours and does it still have the little front spindles?
As for the one armed bandit; keep at it. They're great loaders and entirely cool to boot.
And pictures of your tractor/loader/progress one of these days.
Pics are always welcome here.

It came looking like this -

April2008029.jpg

I put on 12.4x28 tires on the back, and 7.50x16 on the front to compensated for stubby spindles. I reversed them, so that it would be level and not hit the steering cylinders when turning. Those spindles mess up the front end geometry a bit.

Has a nice wide stance now and plenty of ground clearance. Wanted 24 in tires but got tired of waiting to find them.

Here is a new pic -

Also notice that they use shorter fender mounts on this model. I need to shim them up. Too close and can catch a finger on the tread if you grab the fender in the wrong spot. Need to shoot some paint on the front rims to hide that ugly JD yellow

I have a pair of 14.9-24's for $100.00; if you want to pay shipping on them.
They have about 40-50% tread with a good tread pattern. You will need 12" rims for them.

Those 7.50x16's will be a help with the loader on it. That's what my 4600 has on the front... and I wish it had 10.00x16's like my 7600 when the ground is soft. Looks a bit odd to see that small a tractor with front tires that size, but they do make it sit nice and level.

"Anyone decode the engine number?"

The engine serial number will give you your answer. It should be stamped into a horizontal pad machined onto the engine casting, immediately above the oil pan on the right side (starter side). The serial number is preceded by a letter which identifies which engine it has: B=2000 C=3000 D=4000

Thanks Mowr, the serial is B274291 on the engine. did not see that number until you told me where to look. Looks like the engine is the smaller HP version of the 158 CID config.

Thanks for the offer, Brian. I think I will stick with what I have. The problem I have with the 24's is that where do you find centers in the ford bolt pattern?
