I'm in need of some help. I parked my 2110 diesel last Saturday in the garage, it was running fine. I tried to start it today and it will turn over fine but will not start. I started to trouble shoot and found that it is getting fuel thru the filter and to the fuel injection pump so I checked at the injectors and got nothing. During this process I changed the fuel filter and bled the system as described in the manual. All that I can think of is the pump is bad or air locked. Do any of you have any ideas on what to do or try next? Can a fuel pump go bad "all of a sudden"?

Thanks for any input,

T2g

Just getting started on my first diesel so I don't know it all. But I do know to check the simplest things first.
When you push the stop cable in to start it are you sure it is pushing the lever on the pump forward?

Yes, it is all the way forward. What I do not understand is that if I take the bleed screw all the way out, and turn the engine over, the pump squirts fuel at least a foot, maybe two. BTW, this tractor has the CAV type pump.

C'mon guys I really need some ideas on what to try next. HELP!!!!!!!

OK. You've got fuel out the pump bleeder. Now open the lines at the injectors (all 3), set the throttle to max, fuel pushed in and crank in 30 second bursts until you get fuel spurting out at the injectors. Close the lines and it should start. If you don't get fuel up after a few sessions of cranking like that I'd suspect that the metering valve is stuck in the pump.
Pull the pump and have it serviced.

Thanks Rod,
I finally got it to start. It seems to run pretty good but I am having trouble getting the hi and low idle set. I'm pretty sure the problem is in the linkage on top of the injector pump. Can these parts be bought individually?
Thanks, t2g

Does anyone know if repair parts such as external linkages can be bought for CAV injection pumps and if so, where?
Thanks,
t2g
