I was interested in Noviceguy's question about cleaning the airfilter. I have a manual and understand everything except how to get the **** thing apart! There's wingnut on top that I would assume let's you get to the filter material or something. Changing the oil is a piece of cake but shouldn't this thing come apart? Why would there be a wingnut if it didn't? Thanks!

NCTim: The wing nut allows you to remove the top of the air filter. The top holds a screen that should be cleaned when you service the air flter. As you noted, changing the oil is easy. To clean the filter element (not removeable), you'll need to pull the filter canister off the tractor and flush the element with gasoline or mineral spirits, then let it drain and dry. Reassemble, install and you're good to go. David,MI
