Right now I am in the process of restoring my Great Grandfather's TO-20. So far everything has been pretty easy and going smoothly. However I just pulled the head off yesterday and measured the bore size with caliper. It read 3.300 on the top of the sleeve above the wear mark. If I recall correctly it is suppose to be 3.187, is this correct? My Dad said that he never remembered my Grandfather having it overhauled. Maybe it was done before my Dad could remember. I was jut curious if anyone has encountered such a thing.

Thanks for any help.

Matt

It appears as if this engine has already been overhauled using the larger sleeves which feature the 3 5/16 (3.3125) inch diameter bore.

That would be consistent with readily available aftermarket kits.

Check for wear. Perhaps you can simply hone and replace the rings.

The stock bore dia. for a TO30 is 3.250", so your tractor is resleeved/rebored as DCR said.
