I don't believe that it was ever a Ferguson option but dealers used to install Sherman Hi-Lo units for customers sometimes. I have the same need. Unfortunately I went through southern Michigan earlier this year and found an MF dealer who also had many old Fergy parts (some used and some new but all old). He had two Hi-Lo transmission units (at least that's what he said they were) that had never been used. I think he only wanted $100 ea. At that time I didn't even know what they were for. Now kick myself for not knowing. I was on a business trip with not much time and can't for the life of me remember the dealer's name. I think it was nead Tecumseh or Adrian.

It's impossible to use a roto-tiller attachment in 1st. gear with the stock set-up. Also there are times when I would like to operate my brush mower at higher rev's but slower ground speed. The way I use my tractor I could easily give up 4th gear as I never use it. Maybe a lower gear in the rear end is an option for us. I guess that would make reverse painfully slow though.

Any suggestions out there?

Boogity

Hey there Boogity. BTW, I saw your TO-30 photos, nice job! Definitly better than green! If you happen to remember where you saw those Sherman units (or run across another possible source) please let me know. I would be very grateful!
