Ok I got a Ferguson TO-20 and I have heard some pretty bad stories about those e.g. head cracking and/or warping and a few other stories related to that effect appreciate any help anyone could give.

Together, my Dad and I have owned H. Ferguson tractors continually (TO20s,30's) since 1950. Not one of them has ever had to have the head, or block repaired. Most problems stem from overheating. The thermostat is in the top hose, easily overlooked. If it sticks shut and you are unaware of it's existence, cleaning out the cooling system or the rad. fins may enable enough cooling to mask the real problem, especially if there's no temp. gauge. The point is; these tractors will take a lot of misuse, abuse and lack of maintainence, resulting in the things you are concerned about. There are quite a few posts here on the cracking problem and solutions.
