The reconditioned lucas Dynamo on my TEA 20 has a red tag on the main connector I assume this means it is a Negative earth Dynamo but the tractor is Positive earth, Does this matter? and can i re energise it as a positive earth Dynamo by "touching the field connector to (another connector) for a second trick" - but to which connector? Thanks, Rob

Red would be positive and Black would be negative.
If you have a 6 voly system with a generator then you have a positive ground system. If you have 12 volt with an alternator then you use negative ground.
