Hello all,

I hope that the people here can help me out identifing what my engine is, I have a Ferguson TEA 20 with what I thought was an 80 mm Standard engine. The tractor serial number is "TE A 158362" which makes it a 1950 with a 80 mm engine, right? Bore diameter of the cylinder liners measures 3.149+ inches which translates to 79.98+ mm, this is at the top of the liner and there may be a small ridge.

I recently ordered; valves, guides, and springs to rebuild the cylinder head. The springs and guides are the same as the ones that came out of the head, however the valves are way off. The valves that came out of my cylinder head have a head diameter of 1.251 inches, and the replacement valves have a head diameter of only 1.113 inches. Refering to the specifications in the manuals that I have, the replacement valves are what are supposed to be in my tractor, but there is no way that they would ever fit (the opening in the cylinder head behind the valve seat is 1.14 inches, which is bigger than the replacement valves). Reading further through my manuals, I find that the type 1 TVO engine had valves this size (types 2 through 4 had smaller valves). The fuel system on this tractor is straight gas, no special fuel tank or manifold. Is it possible that a TVO head could have been bolted on a 80 mm engine?

Additional info: markings on the engine block, above/behind the generator "17100",
behind the carburator, three lines, top line "2", same size as the numbers behind the generator, middle line "DA9189" half the height of the first line and I not sure that the first character is a "D", last line, "56016" same size as the second line. On the cylinder head, on the underside of the coolant outlet "MC19207"

I would appreciate any help in identifing this thing.
Thank you for your time.

Al Owler.
