Can anyone tell me about setting up remote hydraulics on this machine???? Just got it and would like to run a woodsplitter and a haybine. My old Dexta, engine now deceased, had a setup with a spool valve under the seat that worked well. Can you do that with these machines??? Any and all help most appreciated. Thanks

Hi David -

As Elmer mentions, there are valves to do the job.

One is a switch valve to divert hydraulic oil flow from the lift arms to an external control valve. Called a selector valve or 3 way selector valve, bolts onto the top of the trans in place of the 3 x 5 cover. About $140 Cdn.

The other types are full blown levered valve banks with one to three control levers - fit in the same location. A three lever unit is listed at $740 Cdn.

Kind of makes the decision easy, doesn't it!

The problem - the internal pump is rated at about 4 GPM and about 2250 psi., when it's hitting on all 4 cylinders. Decreases when it gets tired. This volume is ok for lift cyls, but may be quite slow for a wood splitter.

Check the cyl bore & stroke and do some math to see how long it will take to extend it fully.

Good luck. Great Tractor!

Jack

I know of a valve available to divert the flow of oil from the 3 point hitch.
