I have been looking at a TO-30 that is in fair condition, needs an exhaust maniflod, shift knob, tune up and battery, everything else seems ok. 1952 What is a fair price?

I paid 1800 for mine in 1999. Looks a little rough but runs very, very well. Is also a TO30, 1952. You can see it at www.scinfosys.com and follow the links.

The price depends on overall condition and appearance. What is the condition of the tires?
A set of rear tires can set you back close to $600. If the tractor looks somewhat neglected and abused, the condition is probably poor. I have seen TO-30's with implements listed for 3500 to 4000. Seems a bit high. I bought a Ford 850 (slightly newer with good tires but bad engine) for $1000. This price included a disc and a box scraper. I put $1200 into an overhaul, carb kit, wiring and a new battery. I believe that a TO-30 should be worth $1600 to $2800 tops. I bought a TO-35 with a excellant 4000 lb forklift conversion kit (you drove the tractor in reverse) with Char lynn sterring, full frame gussets, a front mounted hydraulic pump, side shift and a nice canopy for $2850 in 1997.
Good luck
