Could someone tell me where the compensating spring on the torque rod attaches to.I can't seem to find where it goes. The service manual has a drawing of the govener mechanism and linkage, but it is not clear as to where the compensating spring is attached. Thanks,Milton K.

The Compensating spring hook to a little L shaped arm that goes on the throttle rod at the front of the engine where the governor control rod connects to it. The other end of the spring hooks to the upper water out let for the top hose it has a hold made on the bottom of it that the spring hooks into. Email me if you need more on this I have a picture showing how it goes.
