Looked at a 1955 '35' Deluxe today. Mechanically everything seems fine. The hood doesn't lift all the way up the way my '30' does. About half way up the bottom front hits the casting underneath. Is this right? The emblems on the side of hood say FERGUSON 35. Should there be a DELUXE on there also? The hood does have a flip up top. I didn't think 35's had them. Thanks

What you're describing is the same as the Ferguson 35 deluxe that I have. Hood doesn't go right up and in fact its a bit of a nuisance if you want to take the battery out as you have to jam something under it to hold it up. Not a big deal though. Buttons to release flip up panel are round, chromed push buttons, panel is recessed. Side badges just say Ferguson 35 - no deluxe or anything.
