Has anyone got a procedure for setting up the carb.choke/throttle/governor settings on a 1948 TE 20 petrol engine. The engine will start and by constantly fiddling with the choke I can get it to run OK. I cannot seem to get the governor/choke adjustment so that it works OK. Help please!

If the problem is with your governor settings, there is only one way to set it all up, and for that, you need to read the manual. I think it's about a five step process. Old 20 Parts on (01332) 792698 have a low cost manual that will show you how to set it all up, and the carb.

Rusty is right in suggesting you start with the carb settings and go from there.

Start with idle screw at 7/8 of a turn open. Set the main adjusting screw at 1 1/4. Then adjust at idle speed. It is a good idea to check the fuel filters.
