I do a small acerage sweet corn market business,
I had opportunity to buy a TO30 - it is very
important to me to be able to fine adjust my
planter and cultivator as I work down the row.
I have been told that I would need a TO35 as it
had much more responsive hydralics. I have
located both for sale with the 30 several
hundred dollars less but both in good shape and
ready to work - also was there ever PS on these
tractors and if so is it available after mkt?
Thanks for the advice...

I have one of each, and for an everyday work tractor the 35 is better, worth several hundred dollars more. The lift on the 30 does not have position control (unless you add it on), meaning it is either all the way up or down, great for plowing and discing, but not so good for an implement like a mower where you want to put it in a certain mid position and hold it there. The 35 has a two speed tranny with three forward in each speed, giving it much more versatile gearing. The first gear on the 30 is a little fast for some functions. There were two types of 35s, the Special and the Deluxe. The latter has a two stage clutch allowing you to separate the PTO function from the gear function, and this version will bring more money than the Special. Of course, the 35 has slightly more HP than the 30 also. The non power steering is generally light enough that that isn't a big issue, unless you put a loader on it.

I have had a ferguson 35 since 1986 and used it to do landscaping and drive way plowing. It runs good and always starts like a champ. I am looking to give her a face lift and am looking for rear wheels as mine are starting to leak. Does anyone know where I could find replacements ? How much are they worth. Thanks for help.

My dad has owned a Ferguson 30 since new in 1952. It is retired like him but still does the family sweet corn patch. In 1967 he planted 400 acres of corn and beans with just this tractor.

Thanks for your response John, This is my first time on a chat sight. Where are you located ? My
buddies Grandfather had 350 Acres 150 of sweet corn. We used a Ferguson exactly like the one I have. I fell in love with that tractor. We farmed in North Jersey along the Delaware River and had the worlds best corn. That was over 40 years ago.
The greatest time in my life. I live in central Jersey along the Delaware and still use my Fergy
for snow plowing. I need to know more about the Hydraulics as my blade won't hold in position it keeps dropping slowly. Any help in that area ?
Thanks,
Kennyg <><

spend the extra money and get the 35, you will be much happier. power steering was an option but you'll need the block with a casting hole for the pwr. steering pump. watch out for cracked blocks!
