I have a TEA20-85 Ferguson and the brakes were shot. Could someone tell me which one is the primary shoe and which one takes the blue spring and of course which one takes the orange spring.

Thx. in advance.

Al.

According to my manual the 20/85 should be fitted with type CHEKKO XL3 floating-cam operated brakes, the shoes have Blue and red mark on the left hand edge, it goes on to say fit the the blue spring to the primary shoe and the red spring to the secondary shoe, anchor end.
"The shoes are held against the anchor pin by the action of return springs, the spring on the primary shoe being the weaker"

hope this helps, get back to me if you need more help from the manual.
