I HAVE A T20 TVO/PETROL AROUND 1950 AND EVERY TIME THE TRACTOR IS STARTED FROM COLD THE CLUTCH STICKS UNTIL IT IS FREED. THE ONLY WAY I CAN FREE THIS IS BY STARTING IT IN GEAR AND PUTTING MY FOOT ON THE BRAKE PEDAL FULL PRESSURE AND OTHER FOOT ON THE CLUTCH PEDAL FULLY DOWN, AFTER ABOUT 20 SECONDS IT UNSTICKS. THE CLUTCH SEEMS TO WORK OK AFTER THIS BUT IT CAN BE QUITE HARD TO ENGAGE 1ST AND REVERSE SOMETIMES WITH A LOT OR GEAR GRINDING. THE TRACTOR JUMPS WHEN REVERSE IS ENGAGED AND THE CLUTCH IS COMING TO BITING POINT. DOES ANYONE KNOW IF MY TRACTOR NEEDS A NEW CLUTCH OR ANYTHING ELSE BEFORE I STRIP IT DOWN. HELP WOULD BE APPRECIATED.

Nigel, I had the same problem with the clutch sticking. What happens is, the flywheel rusts from non-use and the clutch material sticks to it tightly. I remedied my sticking clutch by easing up to a large tree and intentionaly slipping the clutch until I began to smell it getting hot. This seems to have solved the sticking(about 12 years ago) and I've never had a clutch problem since. I can't guarantee this will work for you though.
