OK, so I'm waiting for the chance to hear the TO-35 run (see post below) and I wander by the place where the farm auction will be held this Saturday (Spanish Fork UT fairgrounds) and I see this.

The serial number is SGM 403927. It has the same block casting number as the TO-35 with a date code of E226 (May 22, 1956). The trans has a date code of A66 (Jan 6, 1956). It all seems fairly original and complete, but I'm really still a novice on Ferguson tractors.

This one has a 12V Delco-Remy generator with the tach cable attached. The meter shows just over 4000 hours. I'll probably go back on Saturday just to see what it sells for. I can't find much info on the F40 other than it was only built in '56 and '57. Is it more collectible? Is it more useful than a TO-35?

Thanks for looking.

I went. It sounded great, no smoke, and sold for $2800.

I also got to hear the TO-35 run as it was there being sold, too. I just couldn't come up with the cash to take advantage of the deal last week, so the owner brought it to the auction. It sold for $1700.
