They're no good!!!
Yesterday my TO 35 started as usual and on the road it changed sound slightly not purring even.
Once back I checked plugs and they were sooty a bit so I cleaned them up but same result. I began thinking carb so I readjusted both needles. Still the same so I pulled wires on plugs one at a time and it seemed like # 4 was'nt firing proper. These plugs # D16 were changed three weeks ago. I cleaned them all up and regapped but before screwing them in, I checked the spark on each. Turns out 2 of them weren't firing. Stores are closed so I cleaned a couple of the previous older plugs and the engine just runs perfect.

Any of you running different brand than these with better performance?

Hi Norm. I like Autolite 3116 plugs. Never had a problem with them. I don't like Champion.

Thanks for the input gents, Drizler the prices seems reasonable on the plug site. I've crossed ref my plugs to WR5 NGK.

Ciao

I have had similar experiences. NGK or Bosch is my conclusion.
Imagine how being stranded in the middle of nowhere on a one-cylinder snowmobile at 30 below because of a Champion plug can shape your opinion! (I did have a spare and it quit three weeks later).
Thirty years and zero Champion spark plugs later, and I have never had a spark plug problem since!

So you are just finding out the secret eh? I know a guy who owns a speed shop who refuses to sell any US plug. They just suck when compared to NGK or ND sparkplugs. Both of these companies have cross reference web sites but they can get a bit vague with certain applications on US engines.. Best thing I can say is stay away from Champion if you can. Also when buying Jap plugs from cross references make sure the parts guy knows his stuff too, I have had them give me the wrong NGK recently too.
