Changing hydraulic fluid

I have discovered through this Website that I have been using the incorrect type of fluid to top up the reservoir of my TO-20. I have probably used a gallon over the last year. Also I have no idea what brand of fluid was in there when I bought the tractor last year. Do you think I should empty the reservoir and add 6 gallons of new and correct fluid? I have no problems with the existing operation of the hydraulic lift.
If necessary to replace the fluid are there any tips you might have. I do have an owner's and service manual for reference. Thanks in advance.

Drain and refill the system. Other than straight mineral oil will damage the pump per the owners manual. and this is an expensive hard to find part . Your owners manual or shop manual has the proceedure.

The procedure for draining the hydraulic fluid does not jump out at me from either my shop or owner's manual of my TO-20. I see where the drain plugs are, but no specific steps for draining. Do you have a page reference? Thanks.

Sorry, I was hurrying attempting to save some typing. Just remove all three plugs, one at a time and drain into a container(s) capable of holding 6 gal. You can remove the rt. side inspection plate( dipstick in it) and use an inspection mirror and flashlight to check for junk, dirt, etc on the bottom to determine if you should flush the resevoir. Add fresh oil through the fill plug as you have the additions. A side note- if you remove the side plate prior to draining, you can use the mirror/flashlight to discover any leaks in the pressure system by engaging PTO and starting tractor with lift raised. Inspect each componet tracing the route from pump to ram cylinder piston. Minor dripping is normal, but steady streams or sprays beg for attention. I hope this makes sense, I've been up since 04:00 hrs.
