I have a TO30 that has an annoying clicking noise in the engine. Any thoughts as to cause and possible fix would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.

Try taking a long screwdriver and place the metal end against engine at various places with your ear against the other end with engine running.(using common sense rules) You can find out where the noise is coming from by doing this. I would guess from your description that it should be loudest up around the cover on top of the engine. (Called the valve cover) If this is where the noise is the loudest, try adjusting the valves. If you don't have mechanical experience, have a mechanic/friend do it. Get a manual for the specs on the valves over on the left side of this page. You may need a new valve cover gasket too. Fred
