I have a 1950's furguson tractor that was working fine but now when I go to start it all I get is a single click noise and nothing else, I took it into the repair shop recently and they rebuilt the starter, added new battery cables and ignition switch. I can not think of anything else that I can do to get it started. Anybody have ideas/suggestions?

Sometimes the starter motor can get stuck on the starter gear.
If the tracter is put in gear (3rd I find is the best), and rocked forwards and backwards, this can unshift the starter motor. If it is the motor that is the problem, then this won't work, but if it is the starter gear that is stuck then it will work.
You can try it and see.
Regards,
Jack

try getting the battery load tested to see if it is any good also clean ground connection good where it goes on frame or block. The click means the solenoid is doing its job the rest is up to the current flow to spin the starter so that is what I would look at how much amp draw are you getting to the starter and out of the starter. If you are using a keyswitch it can also be decfective. Amazing how some little thing can have so many causes on such a simple machine.
