Hi!
My TEA has been running badly for a while now and I think I should do a decarbonisation. Before I tear off the head, what are some other symptoms of a carbon buildup? Any ideas would be appreciated!

I don't know which one did the trick but we tried the 1/2 atf and 1/2 B-12 , on a 390 ford V-8, and then we used the coke bottle full of water poured through the carb. with the engine rev'ed up about 2500 rpm. The engine WAS NOT hot i.e. operating temp. About 2wks. later we pulled the heads for a valve job and there wasn't a speck of carbon anywhere.Good luck, David

Hi Andrew

I have heard that if you give a engine just one small drop of water at the time, thru the carburator, while the engine is running at full speed, the water will "Explode", and loosen up the carbon, and it will come out with the exhaust....

Old army trick i think...
