I made a alt. bracket for Delco as follows.
You need a piece of strap iron 1/4 by 1 1/2 about 18 inches long to start. Cut 2 pieces 4" long exactly. Put one of them where your front generator bracket would be. It will be pointing straight up. Scribe where you want the hole drilled. Now drill both pieces at the same time . this way the top will be level. Cut off a piece about 4" long and lay it on top of the verticle 2 pieces . Cut 2 more pieces about 1" long . These 2 Pieces will be the ears that bolt to the alt. Bolt them to alt and set it on the horizontal piece on top of the 2 vewrticle pieces. Square it up for belt alignment and tack it together with welder. Take it off and weld it solid and trim off excess hioizontal piece. Go to junk yard and get a bracket for top of alt to adjust belt tension. This bracket bolts to top water pump bolt. Looks factory and is simple to make.

The TO-30 mounts to the side of the block in pre/drilled and treaded holes in the casting with a bracket. You might be able to adapt a TO-30 Gen but it will take some home made bracket to do so. The TO-20 used a bracket off the axle assembly bolt holes on the block and used a different style generator also. If you need a picture of the brackets and generator e-mail me. Mark H.
