I hope some of you Ferguson experts can help me.In 1952, in Ontario Canada, my grandfather bought his first tractor,a Ferguson. I was only 5 years old at the time. I think the engine cover had the number 2085 stencilled on it and I'm positive it was completely grey. I want to buy the same model and restore it. I remember that over the years, gramps purchased a number of implements for it, including a 2 furrow-plow, disc, cultivator, front-end loader, and front-bumper. If I recall correctly, the PTO would only turn while the tractor was in gear and the clutch was out. He cleared some land, and used a flat pulley mounted on the PTO to drive a buzz-saw. Things get fuzzy here, but I think he had to jack up the one side and let the one rear-wheel spin due to this PTO setup. Anyhow, I'm hoping that someone here can tell me what model it was, given the shaky information I've provided. Does what I've described sound like a 2085? By the way, starting at 6 years old I cultivated many, many acres of tobacco with this great tractor. I still remember when gramps first got the tractor. We had to cut down the tongues of wagons and a fertilizer spreader which had been used with the team. Sally and Bessy were put out to pasture and lived until I was a teenager. Several years later he traded it for a MF-35. I miss those days. Gramps too. Thanks for any assistance.
