The guy that I brought the IH 350 the other day also had this gasser IH. I was wondering what the model and year of it was. I only got two pics. It ran good.

My Brother-in-law bought a 2404 loader tractor soon as he started farming, for a guy who only ever ran a WD-45
and a D-17 and about a Dozen Deere's of various sizes and ages, I wondered why he bought the ONLY IH he'd ever
been around. But it was his daily loader tractor, also used to move snow, mow & rake hay, even hauled in straw
bales one miserably hot day I helped him bale. His only other tractor was a brand new 4440, so the 2404 ran
augers too.
He finally replaced it with a small-ish Gehl skid-steer. Now he has about a dozen tractors in his machine
shed, even a CAT Challenger. But the little 2404 left years ago. One nice fall day he was getting ready to
combine corn, pulled the dipstick on the 2404 to make sure it had oil, the dipstick came out dry, then he
noticed the blade with the lines and cross-hatch was missing, came off inside the oil pan! He made a trip to
town, IH dealer had a new dipstick, pan gasket, etc. To drop the pan. When he saw inside the pan there were
FOUR blade ends in the pan, it had them since WAY before He had the tractor, put the new parts on, and 5
quarts new oil & filter, and just had time enough to do chores and quit for the day! Never even started the
combine.
But the IH loader was as stout and ridgid as any other construction type loader, and the Tractor withstood
everything it was asked to do. I did notice the 2020 Deere tractor&loader his Dad bought brand new is sitting
outside back behind the barn, hadn't moved in 2-3 years.
