I did get it running today for a bit. I had pulled injectors to lube up cylinders before cranking. i checked compression and saw about 280 to 300 psi in each cylinder. I know thats low. Put the injectors back in and bled the system and it started up and ran good. Shut er down cuz i need to dump the excessive amount of engine oil and maybe hyd oil combo. The diesel fuel tank is full. I guess i'll run it. It is at least two years old

if it looks like diesel, smells like diesel, yes run it.i have burnt 30 year old diesel sitting in the tank.

Don't know how warm it is there. But if it started good without the manifold heat working and no other help that's a plus.

Not terribly cold... I'd say about 50 today... warmer than that in my shop with the wood stove going. I did give it a few puffs of starting fluid

That is really good news! They are fine tractors (if operating well) sure worth putting hydraulic money in it. When starting it for the first time in a day, let it run 1/3 throttle for 5 minutes before putting it to work. When it has been working let cool down for that same 5 minutes. Driving from a field under little load can also be part of that time. Treat it like you own it. Jim

Last nite when i ran it it blew a tremendous amount of smoke out of it. I had to open all the doors and windows. I remember when pulling the injectors that #3 injector was really wet, the others were black and sooty looking, I suspect i have a bad injector of #3 causing all the smoke. I also wonder about running it with the combo of engine oil and hyd. oil in the crankcase. I have since drained all the engine oil and added fresh 10/40

It runs well enough to get it outside and running to warm before changing parts. Don't operate it without hytran in the pump or the pump will fail. Jim
