I cannot see any detail in your pictures of what type of pump it is, usually it's a Delphi rotary that's fitted, if it is any conventional type injector pump it has to be timed and the best way to go about doing it is time the engine before the sick pump is removed, disconnect the battery as a precaution the engine is not turned over when the pump is off, put #1 cylinder on compression stroke, line up the engine timing mark to the spec, the pump timing marks should now be lined up, remove the pump, it is best to give the pump to a fuel injection shop as they will have all the special tools required to do the job, to refit the pump line up its timing marks and fit it, connect up the lines and controls, bleed and start.

I have a RC85 but have never had to deal with the injection pump
The engine is a 268 ci 4.4 liter Perkins with a turbo
I replaced the throttle cable on mine a few years ago and that was a challenge in itself
Good luck

thanks AJ, appreciate the time you took to respond.
Will definitely take it to someone to do, will try pulling out myself though.
Have added a photo of pump info
Cheers
Paul

That is the Delphi DP 200 or 210 series pump. I'd HIGHLY recommend getting a service manual before attempting pump removal. I'm not sure if this engine is similar to the
three cylinder DP 200 pump but it might be. On the three cylinder, after the pump drive gear cover is off the four bolt gear/hub are turned so the drive hub U slot is at
the 6 O clock position, seen through the gear opening. If I recall a 5/16 steel pin/drill bit end will locate the drive hub correctly when the pin enters a pilot hole
drilled into the front of pump housing. Then engine and pump are locked in the correct position. DO NOT remove the drive hub from the pump as hub is NOT keyed to the
tapered drive shaft. Special tools are needed to correctly remove/replace the hub in the correct position or engine will never run right, OR never again if the timing procedure is not carefully done.
