John Deere 1010 idler wheels

Have a John Deere 1010 dozer that I am hearing some clicking
noise when driving straight. Hear it on left track. The front idler
wheel it appears tipped to the left. So I am assuming the
bearings are going bad or are shot. Also there is a lot of wear on
the wheel itself. Some repair has been done with the welder on
these idler wheels.
I do not have a manual yet. Will order one soon.
So are the front idler wheel ( large wheel that tightens track)
exclusive to the 1010 or can you interchange them with a newer
model?

go to jdcrawlers.com and ask your question. Lavoy who runs the site should give you an answer and he may have one

I don't know as the 350 parts are exactly the same, however the 350 undercarriage components are used to repair JD crawlers of the 1010 and earlier models. The only original undercarriage parts for those models are mostly used ones, if you can find any that are better than yours.

You can use the online parts manual on the John Deere Parts website to check the parts on yours and compare them to other models. Enter 1010 in the model search and search. A list will appear. scroll down it to the heading that is 1010 Loader, Crawler with 1010 Series Crawler Tractors-PC727 below it. The attachments (loaders, dozer blades, winches, rippers, etc.) had their own separate parts catalogs. Where you did the search for 1010 you can change the search to a part number search where a part number can be entered to see what other models it may have been used on.
