Case 320 loader backhoe will not steer with load in bucket ? No gages to check pressure what is most likely problem?

You check the simple things, the drive belt, the fluid level, the filter in the reservoir, if those things check ok take a look at where the ball joint connects to the cylinder, that ball joint moves the valve to put power to the piston in the cylinder, if it is loose it does not move the valve enough and needs adjusting, the other things that could be wrong is the pump not making pressure, the seals on the cylinder piston, I am taking it that this is power assisted steering and not power steering, power steering does not have the conventional steering box but an orbital valve instead.
