Ford 555A alternator light

Hi all,

I've got an odd problem that just popped up. I was using the machine and shut it down but the alternator warning light came on with the key in the off position and it stays illuminated. I took a look at the wiring diagram and it shows that one wire goes from the light to power and the other goes to the regulator. To me this would seem like it's more of an issue with the key switch because the switch isn't cutting power to the light. Any thoughts on where to start to look?

Thanks all!

More than likely power is being. ''back
fed'' to the light from the VR side due
to an alternator issue (possibly a diode)
or a VR failure. Can you find out for
sure which side of the indicator lamp is
being fed power, the switch side or the
VR side?
