A friend has an old JD350 loader & we are trying to find out the year. I do have this serial number SNE735000091U. Now I have found out thar this is the serial number for the loader attachment. The actual manufacturer plate for the tractor is missing but it does have a plate right above where the original one was with this number stamped in it.KL-475. I have no ideal what this means. My question is can I find out what year the the tractor is from the loader attachment serial number? Thank You.

That model loader was built 1965 to 1970 by the parts catalog. 7350 is the designation for the loader used on the 350 crawler. U is the designation for John Deere Industrial equipment works, where the loader was built. The serial numbers are generally six-digit numbers, so a 0 would be added to the front of the 00091. Either way (5 or 6 digits) with a serial number that low (91) I would expect the loader was built in 1965. There are no publicly published lists of attachment numbers, like there are for tractors and crawlers, that I know of.

A JD construction dealer might be able to go through channels and find a build date for it. My guess is it is likely they will say they can't get the year.

KL-475 could be an in-house asset identification tag for a rental house or contractor. Where was the original tag located? I'm guessing you found the two holes where it was riveted on.
