1070 engine problems

i went and looked a 1070 with 3200 origanal hours and when you run it it makes a ticking noise and it seems to be lacking power what could be wrong? maybe a valve? please help thanks

valves out of adjustment can make a tapping sound and would cause a power loss also, does it smoke normal when you throttle up? reason I ask that is I have seen power loss if the fuel shut off is not going into the full "run" position due to the stop cable adjusted wrong or it could have plugged fuel filters, if she smokes heavy it may be a air restriction problem, I have also seen the fuel rack in the pumps be sticking and not going to the full fuel position cnt

Low power can be loose screw in front of control rack, is used with shimms at end of rack to adjust starting fuel delivery. Remove round cap at front of pump, will have flats for wrench, make sure screw is in place and tight. Will limit full load fuel setting if out of place.
