Yes,otherwise you do not have a Legit Certificate.You can legally change your name but your Birth Certificate always enters into the legal process. Your certificate is always attached to the name change certification,that way your past can always be tracked.The early Immigrants quickly learned the importance of a method of identification and the certificate that tells of your birth and the subsequent registration of the certificate shows your connection to the world.Many certificates from before type writers are barely legible.Why can't intelligant men and women like Doctors have penmanship that can be comfortably read? I'll never understand the process Doctors go thru just to write something that can be deciphered.IMO JH
