OK, I need to replace a reversing 110-volt motor on a piece of antique equipment. I’ve acquired a new motor but am getting a headache tiring to figure out how to wire it. Originally it had an old magnetic switch, which basically is a DPDT center off switch. The original motor only had 3 wires going to the switch.
I now have a dual voltage, capacitor start motor with auto thermal reset and the following leads. (J10, T2,T4) (T8, P2,T3) (P1). To reverse direction switch the T8 & J10 leads. Low voltage (110v) leads to (P1) & ((J10,T2,T4) OR (T8,T2,T4)).
Is there a way to wire this up so its reversible with the existing switch? If so I haven’t figured it out yet. If not what else might I need?
