Yesterday afternoon, I was using my H with the loader to push some small branches out from under a huge dead elm tree, with the intention of taking the tree down sometime soon. I even picked out a limb I'd hook a cable to and pull on with a tractor to help drop the tree where I wanted.
I went back to the shop and parked the tractor. Just after I'd shut the engine off, I heard a big "crack" and "crash". All by itself, about a third of the tree broke off and fell, right where I'd been with the tractor a few minutes before.
