Did you ever get hurt doing something with machinery, and never had your pap find out?
I (being 14 and in a hurry)jumped down from our JD A, leaving the sickle bar mower running. My foot hit the oily drawbar and slipped in towards the PTO. The PTO thought my pant leg was a stack of weeds, and proceeded to remove it. Thank god my jeans were about worn out with no knees, and had additional holes all over. Took off the right leg to the knee, carved a groove up my calf (5"x 1/4" bolt was the shear pin)and I was able to jerk my leg out of there. I was more scared to tell him (never hit me, just yelled and never would have let me forget it)
Never told him. Never will, but I remember this every time overconfidence starts to make me careless. I count myself lucky.
