just swapped a 400 out for a 390 in a 77 F-350,,, bout the only thing I could use off the 400 was the power steering pump,,, even the brackets for the motor mounts that bolt to the chassis had to B swapped
I have a what I think is a C6 that is mounted to a 400. I was not sure whether the c6 would work with the 300. My brother in law comes from a ford family and has several 1970's ford parts trucks that were factory auto. so I have access to just about everything I need to make the swap. Thanks for the help.
