In Allis Chalmers Farm Equipment 1914-1985, Norm Swinford states: 'the 1960-1962 D17 was unofficially the Series II after the Series III came out and differentation was needed. It was painted Persian Orange No 2 with cream wheels and grill, short cream metal name plate with black letters, and round aluminum muffler. Serial No. 32001-41540' Hope this is of some help. Greg
