Ron, You are forgetting that rainfall is related to irrigation needs. More rain, less irrigation required from elsewhere. In the very short term the odd metre or so of rain should reduce the draw down, but as you said, it may not have the desired effect of raising aquifer stocks very noticeably Regards, RAB
